Exciting projects are in motion at the Initiative and the next 6 months look to be filled with great opportunity for the town.
What's happening TODAY?
Visitor Information Point, is open daily providing information to tourists and locals, the VIP also stocks locally crafted products.
Preloved Charity Shop is also open daily providing good quality goods and a recycling service.
An Award of £148,500 has been made to the Initiative from FLAG (Dumfries and Galloway Fisheries Local Action Group) towards the replacement pontoon at Kippford. This projects started over 10 years ago to replace the slipway and pontoon at Kippford for public use, we are delighted that this project will now be completed.
Hydro Scheme for Dalbeattie, the use of sustainable energy for Dalbeattie has been a key project for the Initiative. We are now undergoing a pre feasibility study on Barr Burn to see if a hydro scheme would be possible for Dalbeattie. This project is in very early research stages but show future promise to harvest sustainable energy from Dalbeattie's natural resources.
